DAY 1 - Online Opening Ceremony with Tata Walter

DAY 1 - Altar & Intention Ritual

Beginning the cacao dieta today with these energies feels deeply meaningful. It’s an invitation to step into leadership of our lives, embracing our desire for a profound connection with ourselves. We are held and supported by the nurturing, divine feminine energy of Ixcacao, guiding us on this sacred journey.

Today's ritual centers on creating a new altar for the upcoming dieta. What are your intentions for yourself? To what will you devote yourself? Consider the choices and steps you will take to support these intentions.

Ask IXCACAO for guidance and help, and to express our needs. Are you ready to allow her sweetness and love in? Are you open to receive?

I invite you to place meaningful and purposeful objects on your altar and to truly set a new altar rather than using one you already have. If you prefer to use an existing altar, take a moment to carefully examine the objects on it. What do they represent? Remove any that no longer serve your intentions for the next 13 days and set them aside.

Remember, an altar is a reflection of your intentions. When you set it with clarity and purpose, it will come to life and create magic.

You can say this prayer while you light a candle on your altar to set the intention for this journey:

“ Where ever there is light, there is love. Where ever there is love there is light. May the love of light live within me and the light of love surround me and protect me on this day and on this journey.

I lend my energy, my mind and my body to what I want to have happen in this world. I trust that the Universe will hear and feel me and provide me recourses accordingly.

I am allowing my thoughts and hopes to become my prayers and be heard.

May the answers to these prayers will benefit all life on this planet. And so it is or even better.”

♡11 Tz’ikin♡

Nahual: Bird (Eagle/ Quetzal)

Attributes: Known to be good spiritual guides (Ajq'ij), Mediator between Earth and Sky, Bird's eye view

Direction: North

Element: Air

About Tz’ikin

Tz’ikin is the intermediary between the Sky and the Earth. Its energy is represented by the eagle, who can fly to great heights and whose vision allows it to see everything from a unique perspective. It represents the energies of abundance and love, helping people to reconnect and strengthen bonds between partners, friends, family and co-workers.This energy can help us tap into our intuition and provide us with the panoramic vision of an eagle, which bring new perspectives and understanding. This makes it an ideal day to meditate and manifest. We can also offer some seeds to the birds to connect and welcome this wonderful energy and its good qualities into our life. Tz’ikin is the essence of money. It is also the source of abundance. It is a day for receiving vision, premonitions. This nahual holds abundance, creative power and abundance.

Nr 11 ~ represents Chaos, something is in movement, transformation. This number invites us to be in harmony with chaos. And invites us to accept that change is coming.

To start this dieta during this day for me invites us to look at our own connection with the Earth and the Sky. With our connection to the vision we hold in our lives, to how we call in abundance. 11 brings chaos, it asks of us to release control in order to transform. So that we can hold a more alined bigger vision.

I am looking forwards to hear Tata Walter talk about todays energy and to hold us in this opening ceremony.

DAY 3- Lifting the veils

Today's energy carries the profound potential to lift the veils of perception, allowing us to see the 'chaos' that has been created and is holding us back from our vision. Take a moment to revisit the intentions you set on the first day. How do they feel now? How do you reflect on them?

Can you rise above yourself and your daily life to see the highest potential the universe holds for you? When we view life through our human eyes, it’s easy to become entangled in the chaos, the triggers, and the procrastination that cloud our clarity. But when we allow ourselves to soar high, to fly wing to wing with Great Spirit, we open ourselves to glimpses of the Great Vision that is being held for us.

Take this time to align with that vision, to see beyond the noise, and to embrace the expansive possibilities waiting for you.

About Tz'ikin

The energy of the nawal Tz'ikin brings powerful vision today, but the influence of the high number 11 might make it challenging to maintain focus. This is a day to expand your perspective and explore the bigger picture of life.

As the saying goes, "All that glitters is not gold," and today, the energy of Tz'ikin might draw you toward numerous "shiny" distractions. These could come in the form of new ideas, particularly those linked to prosperity or growth. While these ideas may not seem immediately relevant, they hold potential value and might be worth revisiting in the future. After all, Tz'ikin carries the energy of foresight and vision.

Tz'ikin is also highly sociable, which can lead to meeting many people or engaging in lighthearted conversations. While these interactions may seem superficial at first, there’s a chance of uncovering something meaningful or connecting with someone who will play a significant role in your life down the line. The sociable and vocal nature of Tz'ikin encourages open communication—keep your ears and heart open for hidden gems within casual exchanges.

Today holds immense potential, though it might feel scattered or unclear initially. Instead of getting bogged down in details, allow yourself to embrace the expansive energy of the day. Broadening your vision now could pave the way for the refinement and realization of your ideas in the future.

DAY 4- Ho’ponopono

Today is a day about dropping past regrets, and helping others to drop theirs. It is a day to embrace yourself for all you are, and everything that has shaped you throughout your life, a day of acceptance of the human nature of us all. We can use our past experience to understand why others around us may have committed errors, perhaps they are errors we too have committed in our past. Understanding this can help us to forgive them and in turn help us to release any residual burdens we carry. Allow any bitterness about past events to leave so that the sweetness can come in.

♡12 AJMAQ♡

Nahual: Bee, Wasp

Attributes: Curiosity, Pardon

Direction: West

Element: Earth

About Ajmaq

Ajmaq is represented by the bee and the wasp. It carries the energy of forgiveness and helps us to apologize for any wrongdoing, to seek forgiveness from ourselves and others, and to be able to forgive. This energy can assist us in letting go of any guilt, grudges, shame or resentment. This allows us to learn from the past without carrying it forward. Forgiveness does not imply forgetting, accepting, or excusing wrongdoings, rather it provides us with peace of mind and relieves the heavy weight. Ajmaq is also the energy that represents curiosity and brings us the ability to learn. It is a day highly connected with learning about the wisdom carried by those great teachers who once walked the Earth.

The energy of the day 12 Ajmak may give rise to some form of life review. You may find that your past experiences help you to understand how to bring the sweetness to life today.

When the day Ajmak is called during ceremony, it is referred to as the nawal of redemption and it is seen here combined with the number representing all of life's experiences bundled together. This can be understood as having an energy of both redeeming and asking for redemption for the past in this lifetime. Every day, we hopefully grow a little wiser and understand our less-wise decisions and actions of the past. At the time we made those decisions, we often acted on the best information we had, with our best intentions. However, looking back the result may not have been a choice we would make now.

DAY 5 - Asking the ancestors for guidance

If there is a problem in your life that you know one of your ancestors would be able to solve, today is the day to ask for their help, whether they are still in this world or not.

♡13 Noj♡

Nahual: Woodpecker

Attributes: Knowledge, Thought

Direction: North

Element: Air

No'j represents ideas, thoughts, and the brain. It is the connection between the human mind and the mind of the universe. It is the energy that inspires us to apply our knowledge and experiences in order to gain lasting wisdom. The way to accomplish this is by putting everything we know into action. There is a significant difference between knowing something and actually implementing it into your life and this is where the secret of No’j lies. This is an ideal day for cultivating the mind, searching for truth, investigating, and acquiring information that will later be translated into wisdom.

This should be a very interesting day for anyone involved with ancestral knowledge, as the nawal of the brain combines with the number of the spirit world.

This day has the potential for true genius. No'j is usually known for its grounded ideas, the practicality with which knowledge is applied to problem solving. However, the strength of the number 13 may give rise to at least a leap of faith within this process. This is a day when the answers being sought after may come through the whispers of the ancestors, helping you to piece together the information you have. This is certainly not to say this is a bad thing, just that it may be rather difficult to give any logical working of your solution other than "it just came to me."

If there is a problem in your life that you know one of your ancestors would be able to solve, today is the day to ask for their help, whether they are still in this world or not.

DAY 6- CREATING HARMONY, HEALING PROCESS

Today is the day to take a fresh look at what needs to be healed or removed in order to bring harmony into your life. It may even require a little outside assistance, whether in the form of encouragement or just advice on where cuts can be made. Today is the beginning of the healing process.

♡1 Tijax ♡

Nahual: Toucan, Swordfish

Attributes: Double-bladed Obsidian Knife

Direction: South

Element: Water

Start of a new Trecena:
A Trecena is a 13-day cycle. There are 20 Trecenas in a Cholq'ij year.

The Cholq'ij is the most important calendar in Mayan culture. It is used to measure the energies that influence humans each day.

It consists of 20 different energies, known as Ch'umilab', each with 13 manifestations resulting in 260 days.

About Tijax

Tijax is the energy associated with healing, and it is frequently referred to as doctor Tijax. It is represented by the double-bladed obsidian knife. This knife has two sides, similar to the two faces of a coin; with one side, you can work on removing anything negative in your life, as well as any blockages or impediments to your growth and healing. With the other side you can work on opening new paths and opportunities. This is a day to heal, release the negative inside of us, and cut away the bad things in our lives. It is an excellent day for Ajq’ijab’ (Maya spiritual leaders) to treat their patients through cleansing, Kotzij’, and practices to remove their problems and illnesses.

Today, the journey begins! Yesterday, you received the wisdom of the ancestors—now it’s time to bring it to life.

The days of preparation are behind you, and now it’s time to put your gifts and abilities into action. While they may have been freely given, they carry a purpose, and today is the moment to embrace that purpose.

The energy of Tijax brings determination and a deep commitment to restoring balance. It works to heal divisions—sometimes through precise refinement, cutting away what no longer serves, and other times by removing disharmony altogether. Tijax moves with the clarity of a "mission from the Divine," seeking to create a better, more harmonious world.

We are approaching significant days in the calendar, such as Wajxakib (8) B’atz and Kajib (4) Ajpu, which carry powerful energies of creation. Today, 1 Tijax sets the stage for these transformative moments. It acts as the first cleansing, initiating the process of clearing away old growth to prepare the ground for planting something new and full of potential.

Step forward with courage and intention—the mission begins now.

DAY 7 - Uniting Opposites to Create New Beginnings

Thinking about yesterdays proces of healing in order to create more Harmony in your life. How can you fit that into the greater plan? How in bringing this Harmony into your life you will improve those of your community or future generations?

Today, both polarities can be invoked to bring something new into the world. This is the day to call for new emergence, a new life born from the union of two equal and opposing forces that energize the world. Reflect on what is holding you back from bringing harmony into your life—what are the opposing forces at play, and how can you bring them together in communion?

♡2 Kawoq♡

Nahual: Turtle, Ant

Attributes: Abundance, Family

Direction: East

Element: Fire

About Kawoq

Kawoq is the energy represented by the abundance of the community that works and grows together. It symbolizes family, community, society, humanity, the world, the galaxy, and everything that surrounds us and that we are a part of. This energy encourages us to work together for the betterment of all and reminds us to take action from a place of wanting what is best for the community as a whole. For the Maya, it is important to work not only for the community today, but also for future generations, so that they are in a good place as well. Today is a great day to connect with those around you, which could be as simple as having a phone call with a parent or a friend. It is also an excellent opportunity for community service and to assist others around you.

Sometimes, a touch of self-sacrifice is necessary to bring something new into the world, and today carries that energy. Duality arises through separation, and it is through this division that new life emerges, transforming the old into the new.

The nawal Kawoq embodies the birthing process in all its complexity, representing both the ecstatic and the challenging. It reminds us that while birth can bring pain, it also brings forth hope, renewal, and one of life’s greatest miracles.

The energy of the number two highlights the duality of existence, emphasizing that creation cannot happen in perfect unity. Duality, with all its inherent challenges, is essential for life. Neither aspect—masculine or feminine, light or dark—is superior; they are complementary forces, each balancing and enriching the other. While this energy may bring moments of indecision, it also offers profound opportunities for balance and harmony as new beginnings take shape.

DAY 8 - Retreat yourself in your holy of holies, connect with your DIVINITY

This is a perfect day to retreat into your own "holy of holies," to connect with the sacred essence and creation within your heart. I invite you to a profound communion with your true self, your I AM Presence, and through this, to whatever your divine energy is calling you to create.

I AM IN CONTROL

I AM ONE WITH GOD

I AM THE ONLY AUTHORITY IN MY LIFE ,

I AM DIVINELY PROTECTED BY THE LIGHT OF MY BEING

I CLOSE MY AURA AND BODY OF LIGHT

TO THE LOWER ASTRAL LEVEL OF MIND

AND I NOW OPEN TO THE SPIRITUAL WORLD,

THANK YOU I AM AND SO IT IS”.

Saying this prayer out loud invokes your I AM PRESENCE, your divinity, your inner light of God.

♡3 Ajpu♡

Nahual: Human being

Attributes: Blowgun Hunter, Sun

Direction: West

Element: Earth

About Ajpu

Ajpu represents the spiritual warrior. It is the person who fights not with violence but with light. It is the energy of the blowgun hunter who uses this tool to achieve anything they want in life, carrying with them the energy of manifestation. This energy brings us the wisdom of the twin hero Junajpu, who was able to go to Xib’alb’a (the Maya Underworld) and defeat all of the trials to be reborn into a new being and become the sun. When connecting to this wisdom we are able to gain the insight needed to defeat our own trials, to transcend our darkness and go into the light. This is a day to spend some time under the Sun, to let the light penetrate your being and show you how to overcome your trials in life

The outer world can often feel harsh and unpredictable. Some days, we are graced with blessings, while on others, we question where things went astray. The energy of 3 Ajpu encourages us to shift our focus inward, to search for the divine spark within ourselves and our surroundings.

Finding holiness in all things is a noble aspiration, though it can sometimes feel out of reach. It may seem easier to recognize divinity in the natural world than in human creations, but even nature can challenge us. Hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes—common in the Maya territories—can devastate lives and legacies, making it hard to see the sacred in such destruction. On a more personal scale, seeing the divine in human interactions, especially those that hurt or conflict with us, can feel equally daunting. While understanding the motivations behind actions we oppose is possible, embracing them as part of a higher plan can feel far more challenging.

Today, the energy of 3 Ajpu invites you to look within and explore the sacredness in your own being and your immediate environment. While the outer world may offer reminders of disconnection or hardship, the path to divinity often begins by nurturing a sense of holiness within your heart and home. Finding divinity within.

DAY 9 - Listen to your inner waters

Todays energy invites us to listen deeply to our inner waters and distillate our own sensations, inspirations and follow our own inner flow.

Bringing our dreams towards a physical reality… if you could make your first step today what would you do? Let yourself be guided by Ixcacao and todays energy to listen to the whispers of your waters.

♡4 Imox♡

Nahual: Dolphin, Alligator

Attributes: Water, Breaking Structures, Expansion of Mind

Direction: North

Element: Air

About Imox

Imox reflects the vitality of one of life's most important elements, water. This day allows us to connect with this element and express our thanks to it, whether by visiting a river, a lake, or connecting with a glass of water. Imox is the eccentric energy, since it breaks down structures and helps us to see further than others. The ability to flow is a teaching of this energy; whether it is a tranquil stream or a soaring cascade, water travels through all the corners of the land, and we must do the same. The energy of the nawal Imox can feel overwhelming when the connection to the collective consciousness becomes too strong. However, today this energy is tempered by the grounding and balanced influence of the number four.

Imox represents the source from which all creation emerges—a wellspring of innovation and inspiration. It connects us to the dream state, offering glimpses of possible futures and serving as a muse that subtly shapes our ideas and creativity. Often, these inspirations arise from a deep, primal place, so subtle that we might not immediately recognize their origins. Imox also heightens our sensitivity to the energies and emotions of those around us, fostering a profound connection to the collective. However, this heightened awareness can sometimes lead to confusion, making it difficult to distinguish between what is truly ours and what we absorb from the collective consciousness.

Today, the stabilizing energy of the number four brings balance to Imox's boundless creativity. It helps to anchor flashes of inspiration, guiding them toward tangible outcomes. This combination supports us in grounding our dreams into reality while also calming the "chatter" of collective energy, allowing for clarity and focus amidst the flow of ideas.

DAY 10 - Intentional words

How often are you truly aware of the power and meaning behind your words, both in what you communicate to others and to yourself? Today, let us bring our focus to our words and the way we communicate. We invite the Spirit of Iq and the Spirit of Ixcacao to flow through us, infusing our speech with sweetness and intention.

One of the most powerful ways I’ve learned to deepen communication in the past year is by getting intimate—with myself and with others. How? When we get intimate with ourselves, we listen to the words we speak to ourselves, noticing the inner critic that shames and diminishes us. By bringing sweetness to this voice, we begin to dismantle this abusive way of communicating within.

How do we get intimate with the "other"? Often, we either swallow our words, compromise, search for harmony, or find ourselves in conflict. But when we truly get intimate with the other, we invite ourselves to unhide. We ask ourselves: what part of me is being touched by this situation, and how can I allow the other person to get closer to this part of me that I’ve been trying to hide or protect?

Today, I invite you to use your voice with sweetness.

♡5 IQ♡

Nahual: Hummingbird

Attributes: Wind, Purification, Cleansing

Direction: South

Element: Wind

About Iq'

Iq' signifies the energy of the wind's life-giving power. Wind is important to the Maya because it not only gives us life, but it is also an elder who helps us clean and purify ourselves. This is the energy that reflects our ideas, and the significance of attaining inner peace and organizing our thoughts in order to achieve our goals in life. On this day, travel to a windy location, light some incense, and connect with our inner wind, which is our breath. Connecting with the drum, flute, and earth's instruments might also be useful.

Clear and effective communication is always a valuable goal, especially when it has the potential to rise beyond the ordinary. Today offers an opportunity to work toward this ideal, though it may require extra effort.

The nawal Iq' emphasizes communication but also brings change and, at times, the challenge of anger. These aspects are often interconnected: poor communication can lead to frustration, and sudden or unexpected changes may trigger emotional responses. On Iq' days, sensitivity to these dynamics is heightened, and reactions can be stronger than usual. Being mindful of this energy can help navigate the day with greater awareness.

The number five adds an element of challenge, often requiring extra effort to bring out the positive qualities of the nawal it accompanies. This energy encourages persistence and focus to overcome obstacles.

Today, investing additional care into the clarity and intention of your words can make a significant difference. With mindful effort, you have the potential to transform challenges into opportunities. Your words, shaped with precision and infused with purpose, may even carry the divine breath, inspiring those around you and fostering meaningful connections.

DAY 11- Unveil your creation, bring it into live

Today, on day 10, we increase our cacao intake to 40 grams, allowing us to sink even deeper and ground ourselves more fully into our hearts. As you reflect on your notes, insights, and feelings from the past days, what creation, project, idea, or next step on your journey is ready to emerge? Can you bring it to life today and share it with our group?

6 Aq’abal ♡

Nahual: Bat

Attributes: Dusk & Dawn, Shadow & Light, Polarities

Direction: East

Element: Fire

About Aq'ab'al

Aq'ab'al is the energy of the dualities of our world, such as the sun and moon, day and night, sunrise and sunset. Polarity is an important aspect of Maya life because they recognise that both these energies require each other and cannot survive without one another. We, as humans, are dual beings, having light and darkness inside us, and Aq'ab'al teaches us the significance of accepting and loving both sides of ourselves, as they assist us traverse our lives. These must be at peace with one another in order to have a successful connection with ourselves as whole beings.

After the rather wavering energy of the last few days, today is a day where we might expect to see the emergence of a new and stable concept.

Aq'ab'al days are generally seen as being fortunate days, days on which the new dawn occurs. They are a bridge between the dream world and the physical, calling the fleeting images from our dreams into our conscious minds so that we can begin to create concepts from them. It is our bridge to the collective consciousness (seen in Imox), connecting the dreaming world and the waking world. It is the fertilised egg, newly implanted in the mother's womb; it has passed from being the dream of a child in the parents' mind into a physical presence, but is yet to emerge into the light of the physical world.

Through these images we understand the energy of Aq'ab'al days. They are days of new beginnings, where new concepts are brought into existence. They still need work to complete them, they need to be gestate, to be nurtured, before they can stand alone.

However, today we see the energy of Aq'ab'al combined with the number 6, the number of ultimate stability.  The new conception is not some vague idea, shrouded in the early light of dawn. The light of the sun is fully on its way, we know for certain that the new day, the new life, is coming. The inspiration of the Heart of the Sky and the Heart of the Earth are infused into this concept, bringing something to the physical plane which has a touch of the divine about it.

This is an excellent day to unveil your new project to the world, even if it is not fully finished yet. Time and nurture will help to complete the process, but even as a concept it is entirely possible to see its potential.

DAY 12 - Release what is no longer needed

♡ 7 K’at ♡

Nahual: Spider, Lizard

Attributes: Net, Manifestation, Bringing Together

Direction: West

Element: Earth

About K’at

he energy of K'at aligns with the number of completion and the Nawal of gathering and harvest. This is a perfect day to gather the fruits of your labor and release old burdens. K'at's energy helps bring things together, whether it’s physical produce or mental clarity. It’s a day to create bundles, where abundance naturally follows. Just as one kernel of maize can multiply into hundreds, K'at has the power to bring together thoughts, ideas, and people—magnifying whatever it touches.

Today is also about finality, as represented by the number 7. It marks the completion of something planted long ago, and it’s an ideal day to finalize projects or deals. However, from the perspective of the top of the pyramid, it’s important to consider where to begin the harvest. The potential for gathering abundance today is so high that you might find your net full before you’ve even finished. Yet, remember to move forward with awareness—too much abundance can become a burden if not handled correctly.

The other side of K'at also teaches us to release what entangles us. The number 7 brings finality, suggesting it’s the perfect day to free yourself from what holds you back. This aligns with the Tijax trecena, guiding you toward letting go.

DAY 13 - Closing Ceremony

Today, we come together for a closing ceremony to express our gratitude and celebrate the last 13 days of dieta and everything we have received. We honor the wisdom of IxCacao, our mirror and teacher, and all the teachings she has shared with us.

♡8 K’an♡

Nahual: Snake

Attributes: Transmutation, Energy, Spirals

Direction: North

Element: Air

Kan – The Energy of the Snake and the Cosmos

Kan represents the energy of the serpent and the spirals of the universe. It embodies Tepew Gucmatz, the feathered serpent who played a key role in the creation of our cosmos. This energy is linked to the life force of our DNA, helping us decode it to reach our fullest potential. Kan teaches that we are a reflection of the universe, with our DNA mirroring the spirals in the cosmos. Understanding ourselves leads to understanding the world around us.

On the 8th day of Kan, we encounter both its positive and negative aspects. This may lead to profound insights. The snake energy requires caution, and despite the balanced nature of the number 8, today’s energy may feel intense. Power, particularly the power to influence others, may be a central theme. The number 8 allows us to experience both beginnings and endings, light and darkness, ultimately leading to balance.

Kan’s energy, combined with the number 8, may bring moments of manipulation or illusion. However, it also offers the opportunity to tap into our wisdom to see beyond the surface, recognizing things as they truly are. This day invites us to learn from both the positive and negative uses of power, and how we can apply this wisdom to empower ourselves and our communities.

The 8th day of the trecena can also be a time for ceremony—a celebration of Kan’s qualities, including its wisdom and empowerment. As a day honoring our teachers, it is an ideal time to acknowledge and celebrate the wisdom they offer us.
