Ritual: Giving and Receiving

If possible, go outside and stand with your feet on the ground. Take a few moments to become aware of your connection to Mother Earth beneath you and the sky above you.

Turn toward each of the four directions and offer a simple prayer of gratitude. Thank the Earth for sustaining your life and for all that you receive each day.

Place offerings (incense, corn on the cob, cookies, cocoa).

Place your hands over your heart and reflect on these two questions:

  • What can I offer my community right now?

  • Where am I being invited to receive support?

Take a moment to notice what comes to mind without forcing an answer.

When you feel ready, extend your hands in front of you. First, with your palms facing down, imagine offering your gifts—your strength, kindness, wisdom, or service—to the world around you.

Then turn your palms upward and allow yourself to receive. Receive support, love, guidance, abundance, and the help that is available to you.

To complete the ritual, make one simple commitment:

  • One act of kindness you will perform in the coming days.

  • One way in which you will allow yourself to receive.

Close by thanking the deer for its strength, balance, and connection to the natural world.

Aho.
